Personal hot take: it would have been much preferable if these talks *actually collapsed". The UNFCCC COP process is *manifestly* not fit for purpose and *must* be reformed. But with this "last ditch agreement" any prospect of reform has been stymied. Yet again.

51% is not a 'minor few' (quoting the article) and it wouldn't be an Irish piece on agricultural ecological damage without a bit of whataboutery too, but I guess that's the game...

It would appear that civil society are equally unwilling to mention the elephant in the room when it comes to agri emissions - an almost complete capture by animal agriculture. Pussy footing around the issue by eNGOs has gone on for far too long already.

I had clicked in to say the very same thing. Much better than Ireland but the commercial plantations are a blight.
