Right, the clapping is about something (perhaps even non-controversial) that he said before this diatribe. This kind of creative editing may be great for engagement, but it undermines atrupar's credibility

It looked to me that they were applauding something said before the "gnats" comment, and that they didn't applaud for that. Hard to be 100% sure without seeing the entire context.
