An early retiree. I enjoy walking most days, eating out at least once a week, cooking, playing video games, watching films and trying new experiences when the opportunity arises.
Visited Sutton-in-Ashfield town centre today. Like many town centres nowadays it had quite a few empty shops, but like Mansfield, had lots of Cafeterias serving all day breakfast and classic lunches. Just good simple grub without the pretentious bollocks & prices that you get in gastro-pubs.

I'm now waiting for a package that will arrive in the next 3 hours (probably), the modern (not so convenient) way of shopping. I still prefer the old shopping method TBO.

The more I look into our future with AI, the more alarmed I'm becoming. Allowing such a powerful technology to be controlled by enormous Corporations is morally irresponsible. They will hold more power than any country on earth.

Why do some YouTube videos have CC where every word spoken is highlighted? who is this for? I find it very annoying to the point that I can't continue watching.

The news that Voyager 1 has just reached the 1 light day milestone after 48 years travelling at 38,000 MPH or 61,000 KPH. Our nearest star is 4 light-years away. So at its present speed it would take approximately 70,000 years to reach our nearest star. Man, space is big!😮

Yesterday I got the first opportunity to really crank up my new stereo and it sounded awesome. I'll only crank up my stereo when my neighbour cranks her stereo up as she works 12 hour night shifts and so I don't want to disturb her sleep.

Just listening to an acoustic version of the Cranberries song Linger thinking that it wouldn't be as good as the recording because of the absence of harmonies, but it's actually better. 🤩

Just watching the Liverpool v N.Forest post match reactions on YouTube. N.Forest beat Liverpool 0-3 but the pundits always talk about the big teams no matter what the score. They're all discussing how poor Liverpool played, but if Liverpool had won they would discuss how well they had played.

Just had a delicious double burger at my local pub. I did feel I was going to dislocate my jaw whilst taking a bite. One of the few times in my life I wished I was a snake.

I've been having more pub lunches lately and I've come to the conclusion that pub lasagne will always lead to disappointment. They're usually microwaved badly resulting in barely hot centers and dried out around the pot they're served in. Better to pick an item that will be prepared post order.

I've discovered the music artist Hether whilst testing out my new speakers. I thought it was a lass singing but after a quick Google search I discovered she was a he. I really like his chilled music.

I'm having some active (powered) speakers being delivered today and I'm just deciding what I should listen to first. I'm thinking something melodic like a Nick Drake track or maybe something more complex like Radiohead's Paranoid Android. Nora Jones's Don't Know Why is also a good test track. 🤔

I've just started the free trial for the BFI (British Film Institute) streaming service. The vast majority of the films on offer are acclaimed works of cinematic history by renowned directors. I've never heard of most of them and no doubt they'll be too cerebral for my very small brain to interpret.
