Former news video editor here. There's a practical reason they don't. They don't have the right to any images of sick people. You can't just grab a picture off google and throw it on tv/your website. You need the rights. So either you filmed it yourself, or a newswire you subscribe to did.
Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.

My co-worker just used OpenAI's Sora 2 to generate a fake video of a bear rummaging through garbage in a Tennessee backyard.

He then asked OpenAI's ChatGPT if the video was real or fake, and it concluded that it was real. 🙃

Unbelievable scoop from Anna Bower.

I genuinely admire the entire lawfare team, but this is bananas-level.
EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

Good evening. We estimate that between 4.2 and 7.6 million people turned out for the No Kings Day demonstrations held around the country on Saturday. This makes Oct 18 very likely the biggest single-day U.S. protest event since 1970. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/second-no-...

If anyone ever asks, "why don't people immigrate to the US the right way?", it's worth noting I was just quoted $14,460 for an O-1 visa application with premium processing. My first O-1 application, without premium processing, was $6,160 in 2018.

No one is ready for any of this.

Read through Drew’s thread.
I told OpenAI's Sora to make a video showing "Body cam footage of cops arresting a dark skinned man in a department store." It took less than a minute.

This is not how copyright works.

OpenAI is simply admitting to stealing intellectual property for profit but is telling the creators that it’s their fault if they don’t ask for their stuff back.
Exclusive: OpenAI is planning to release a new version of its Sora video generator, which creates videos featuring copyrighted material unless copyright holders opt out of having their work appear.

I just went to a shoe repair shop in NYC to ask them to resole a pair of black leather boots I bought 4 years ago for $130

The cost: $165

Sooo I guess I'll just buy new boots and throw them out

This system is bad.

"The who? I'm not familiar," Trump says after being asked why he didn't lower flags for Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortmann, a Democrat, who was assassinated at her home in June along with her husband.

"I wouldn't have thought of that," he says.

I deeply dislike this nation’s persistent mass shooting status quo, and I particularly would rather not walk around the scene of a mass shooting to make my way home. But the way New Yorkers on the street find commonality with one another in the wake of events like this remains a source of awe.
