Just your typical gay married GenXer librarian living in Harrisburg, PA. I read/listen to books, obsessed with Broadway, and watch way too much TV.
This was my favorite book I listened to this Christmas season. It was funny and it was well constructed. It touches on family dynamics and the families that we create. How do complete a bucket list that includes hot tubing naked with a Billionaire, at Christmas no less? #goodreads #booksky

I enjoyed this book! Christmas was not necessarily that important to this book, but it is a good example of the bad guy growing up and becoming Mr. Right. It was a good experience and full of likable characters. I think that it can be read/listened to anytime of the year. #goodreads #booksky

My initial thought of this book is that it seems awful coincidental that a whole brood of millionaires show up at the same ski lodge, but then the story really did grip me. This series is a Hallmark movie ready to film. But the book is not much more than that. #goodreads #booksky

This romantic Christmas story pulls on your heart strings. Should Cynthia follow her dreams to become a movie maker or should she stay in her small town with the one that got away? Pleasant listen. Characters were more likable than most I have listened to this Christmas Season. #goodreads #booksky

This romance was just a pleasant story which had the feel of the better Hallmark movies. A mix up in a rental agency strands two families in the same rental over Christmas. Can the two writers survive staying together in the same room and how can they live happily ever after. #goodreads #booksky

I really love Benjamin Stevenson's world. This mystery is structured around the advent calendar. Ernest finds his ex-wife arrested for murder and he must investigate those around the magician who has been booked for his wedding reception. Absurdity abounds. Highly Recommend. #goodreads #booksky

Tis the season to listen to books set during the holidays. In this book, Christmas is just a date. A M/M romance of opposites in a sense, set in a small book town. How can Quinn save his beloved LGBTQ+ bookstore and can he get the guy. Feels a little Bridget Jones. #goodreads #booksky

This teen romance is a nice fall read. Focused on America's obsession with Pumpkin Spice Latte, the story is about learning trust and figuring out what your passion is. The main character is well developed, but other characters are a bit two dimensional, but still a nice time. #goodreads #booksky

Trigger warning is physical abuse. Ella was beaten almost to death right after a date/meeting with a notorious character. After he is found not-guilty, does she really knows what happened. The story is tied up in a fair suspense novel, even if the real mystery is not well hidden. #goodreads #booksky

Do we really know our closest partners? There are many parts of this story which keeps you guessing what is really going on, but overall the real story is not that deeply hidden. Not a bad read or listen, but really only if you are very interested in domestic thrillers. #goodreads #booksky

This very twisty story is both disturbing and morally questionable. Trigger warning on domestic abuse. As the story unfolds, you find how deeply disturbed all the characters are and you can't trust what is going on. This is classic McFadden. #goodreads #booksky

I am impressed by the number of series that Blake Pierce writes. I have been listening to the first book in each series. I find it hard to tell the difference between the characters. Female FBI agent who goes rogue, solves the mystery because of her intuition. Insert names. #goodreads #booksky

This book starts off with the worst gender reveal possible, but then turns into a very convoluted murder mystery. There are a lot of plot lines in this book with some really unsympathetic characters. The climax felt fractured and then I was left not caring much. #goodreads #booksky

I love Emily Henry. Her books are the best beach reads. This writing and book oriented romance about writing biography is really a wonderful story. Yes the celebrity biography is the Hearst family and yes the resolution is a bit daytime soapy, but still a fun read. Recommend. #goodreads #booksky

This cozy mystery is a book inside a book. The main character is solving a murder close to home as she writes a costume mystery set in the 20's. I found the costume mystery more intriguing, but still a nice cozy mystery series launch. #goodreads #booksky

This mystery is the second in this series. The story is told through a mystery occurring in the current timeline with flashbacks to the 1960's to give deeper understanding to what is going on in the main story. I will continue with the series, so I think it is worth my time. #goodreads #booksky

My last vacation read. The Scotty mysteries of Herren are my favorite. Scotty's new family member, his nephew, is suspected of murder and his husbands are again mixed up in some intrigue. If you like the Housewives, this book gives you a bit of behind the scenes insight, sort of. #goodreads #booksky

One more review of the books I read on vacation. This was my second Chanse mystery. It again gives some love to Herren's favorite topics like New Orleans social structure, wrestling, and the church in New Orleans. This was a lovely beach read. #goodreads #booksky

The mystery was a really good cozy mystery. Who would think that a declutter could get wrapped up in such a mystery. I enjoyed the story. However, this is one book I would not recommend the audio. The narrator in the book is a female character, but the voice actor was male. #goodreads #booksky

This is the first in the series and after finishing the book, I am not sure how it can continue, but I am going to add 2 to my hoopla favorites. It set on a lamb farm in rural England, but lots of neferious stuff is going on in the community. The mystery was very twisty. #goodreads #booksky

There is a lot of deceit going on in this book. Trust no one's perspective as you read this book. What is true, what is false. The biggest problem I had with this book was that it is completely premised on the idea women will all fall for a pretty face. #goodreads #booksky

The book probably can be described as a medical thriller, but it is also a murder mystery and personal drama. I enjoyed listening to this book, but I am not sure that I would conside it a great book. It kept my interest and did not see the moral relativism coming. #goodreads #booksky

This was another book I read on vacation. I love Greg Heren mysteries, they have a sense of the south without becoming another character. This series, set in New Orleans, has Katrina PTSD in its heart. The story moves nicely. Chanse is one of my favorite detective characters. #goodreads #booksky

Recently, I have been reading thrillers focused on suburban neighborhoods. What I have loved is that no one is "good", everyone has secrets. This is a good entry to this genre if you are looking to expand your writers in this direction. Murder, affairs, lies....it has it all. #goodreads #booksky

Not much I have to say about this first collection of Poirot short stories from Agatha Christie. I forget how much early Poirot feels a little like a Holmes and Watson mysteries. Since short stories, good for a read on a vacation or cruise ship. #goodreads #BookSky
