Despite reading more than 20 other books since reading this one the day it was released, this book still haunts me. The feelings it summoned are just as potent nearly two weeks later. Read. This. Book. Now. You can thank me later.

In Dying Light, there’s one scene that’s so quiet—so full of pain and potential—it caught me off guard while writing it.

Two men. Years of grief. A snowstorm. And a late-night conversation.
No steam. Just honesty, resentment, and a tiny spark.

You’ll know the scene when you get there. 🩵

Finally got my review written. (My husband decided Things Need to Be Done Around the House and needed my assistance.)

5/5: Written in the same epistolary style as the original, Mark Zidzik's retelling manages to be both wholly familiar and wholly strange at the same time, exuding gothic dread. Jonathan Harker is stil...

These are the best compression gloves I've ever owned. To make them even better, they come in colorful prints! I bought two more pairs today, for a total of four, so I'll always have a pair close at hand.

Would anyone take pity on my soul and either preorder this book and/or share my post and ask others to share? I already feel like I’m getting suppressed or tanked by Zon for my queer content

Nice surprise waiting for me when I got home, Pagans by James Alistair Henry @jamesbluecat.bsky.social. I had ordered it from Blackwell's in Oxford, England, so I wasn't expecting it for at least another week. That's my weekend sorted. #booksky

Not only are the compression gloves I got from Bibipins @bibicosplays.bsky.social more colorful than ones I've gotten elsewhere, they are also more comfortable. (I also have a pair with bats on them, but they are in my desk at work.)

I just read something amazing. There aren't many books that I want to forget so that I can read them again for the first time. This is one of those select few.

A lovely read that I enjoyed immensely.

2025 is off to an awful start. We got rear-ended yesterday. I've got a stomach bug. My mother passed away this morning. I'm not sure I'll be able to get out to Albuquerque because I'm sick.

So I may have lost my mind, but I've ended up with seven new audiobooks, six new paperbacks, and 12 new ebooks, for a grand total of 25 books. Seems like a good place to stop for the day.

So far today, I've bought five audiobooks and eight ebooks. After lunch, we are going to a couple of bookstores. My 2025 is off to a pretty decent start.

It's after 1:30 pm here on Christmas day. My husband made omelets for lunch. Later he'll start dinner. Otherwise, it has been a quiet day of reading and terrible movies, exactly as we wanted.

So, it is December 1st. That means in two weeks time, the Fortune 500 company that I work for will start panicking over the Christmas and New Years schedules for those of us near the bottom of the corporate ladder. This happens every single year. We serfs find it quite amusing.

After taking 3,000 IUs of D3 for a couple of weeks, per my rheumatologist, I'm having less pain and fatigue. Finally, some positive changes.

(Please don't take D3 unless your doctor has recommended it. It is possible to over do it.)

Just me and my husband at our house for Thanksgiving. His family is full of people who traded white hoods for red caps. Mine is full of people who think I need to be fixed because I'm not like them.

Do not feel badly for staying home and refusing to participate in the drama.

Dear UPS,

Please knock on the door when you deliver a cooler to my house. I really don't want to leave $24,000 worth of refrigerated drugs outside all day, regardless of the weather.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
