It’s an upsetting realization that MAGA Republicans are more bothered by contrived boogeymen than actual monsters.

Conservatives really got duped by a guy with a brain worm. Are we MAHA yet?
The EPA is starting to allow the use of pesticides containing PFAS on food. The move is part of an effort to roll back the regulation of PFAS — also known as "forever chemicals" because they don't break down easily in the environment.

Traffic out of west seattle is a mess today.
Heads up: Due to a power outage, the SR 99 tunnel in Seattle is CLOSED in both directions.

Seek alternate routes.

A few notes to explain why Trump is "supporting" the release of the Epstein files after spending 10 months playing games.

1) He's saving face. It's estimated about 100 House reps planned to break with the president on the vote, so he doesn't want to be seen as not in control.

We always wondered if there was a bridge too far for the cult of Trump - if there was any depth of depravity he could sink to that would shake their allegiance. We always knew the answer. Now his supporters know, too. They have to live with that.

The median age for first time home buyers is now over 40yrs old. Trump’s idea to make homes more affordable? A 50 year mortgage… Let’s look at the numbers.

Remember folks, America is a Christian nation, but the nation shouldn't do anything Christian!

Our neighbors rounded up like animals by masked thugs: "Christians" are silent.
SNAP benefits withheld from kids: still silent.
Millions losing health insurance: deafening silence.
But a Democratic Socialist gets elected in a city they don't even like, suddenly "Christians" have something to say.

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is playing chess and making really good moves.

Tapping former FTC chair Lina Khan for his transition team has put fear into Wall Street. They absolutely loathe her John Wick approach to antitrust cases.

She’s brilliant and unyielding.

Great pick!

CALL TO ACTION: The president - who just hosted a roaring 20s party at his private club a few days ago, complete with scantily-clad dancers and flowing champagne - has decided to defy court orders and withhold SNAP benefits from Americans in need.

This is a great example of why many of us have given up on trying to "reach people on the other side." I'm always happy to have a discussion with people if it's in good faith, but claims of genuine curiosity from folks in the MAGA cult are, in my experience, anything but genuine. Dude blocked me 😂

Gas prices: Up.
Energy costs: Up.
Job growth: Stalled.
Income: Stalled.
Savings: Falling.
Fascism: Gaining.

Are we great yet?

My new favorite response to people who share fake stats to back up their "white replacement" panic.
"Wow, those stats would be concerning if they were true and I was racist."

Picked up 2 books from my favorite local shop today. They are both timeless &, given the current state of things, timely. I’ve read them both, having checked them out from the library, but immediately decided I needed them in my home. Thank you, Ta-Nehisi Coates and @timothysnyder.bsky.social

There is an institutionalized culture of “unity” nostalgia that characterizes the Democratic Party. It is a core part of Democratic political identity that the responsibility to uphold the norms, protect the institutions, demonstrate bipartisanship lies almost exclusively with them.

Soulless Gestapo pigs. Absolutely shameful.
I’m choked up seeing this—it’s shameful.

Iranian refugees got snatched by “immigration agents” dressed like bounty hunters in West LA’s Sawtelle neighborhood.

We’re really about to send them back to a country we just bombed? A regime known for jailing, torturing, and killing its own people?
