@TeaKayB English teacakes don't contain tea and are not cakes, so it would be a little hypocritical of us to object.

New Diamond Shaped Toblerone Launched at High Security Vault
## Toblerone is offering the public the chance to take its brand-new diamond chocolate ‘Truffles’ from behind a secure vault in a faux jewellery store in central London from 28th to 30th September 2023. Famous for its iconic pyramid shape throughout its 115-year history, Toblerone Truffles marks the first time that the brand is expanding into a new diamond shape. The new luxurious diamond-shaped chocolate has a smooth, velvety truffle centre with crunchy bits of nougat and almond. Paying homage to the precious diamond shape of the new chocolate and drawing inspiration from the high-stake jewellery heist of Hatton Garden, The Toblerone Diamond Truffle Vault experience offers members of the public the chance to get their hands on the gold-wrapped diamond truffles… but only if they can crack the code to the vault. Amongst the designer boutiques of Mayfair and just a few doors down from one of the city’s landmark luxury department stores, the experience is like walking into a high-end jewellery shop with maximum security protecting the precious chocolate jewels. The store is open from Thursday, 28th to Saturday, 30th September 2023, with entry on a first-come-first-served basis. Claire Kamara from **Toblerone** commented, _“Toblerone Truffles is an exciting move for us; it’s the first time our much-loved nougat filling has been inside any other shape than a pyramid. We wanted to treat this precious chocolate like a precious diamond and are excited to see Toblerone fans take on the vault to claim the sweetest jewels of all – Toblerone Truffles.”_ **The Toblerone Diamond Truffle Vault will be open to the public daily from September 28th to 30th (10 am – 6 pm), located at 189 Piccadilly, London, W1J 9ES.** Read more lifestyle news and features **here**. ### Share this: * Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook * Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X * Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest * Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn * ### A Snow-Kissed Escape: Experience the Magic of the Apres Bar at London Bridge ### Pause and Pour: The Enduring Spirit of British Tea and Remembrance ### Google’s AI-Powered Search Bar Pops Up in Covent Garden ##### Editorial Team The independent luxury magazine showcasing the finest and most luxurious things in life. @christianp It's debatable whether they count as mathematical, but William Playfair published books with coloured charts in the 1800s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Playfair

@faelif I've always heard it pronounced just like the first syllable of supremum

@christianp Aha! That explains it, thanks.

Re numbers of units, I think it goes like this:

Basic rhombic dodecahedron: 24 units

First stellation: + 24 more

Second stellation: + 48 more

Third stellation: + 48 more

So, for example, the third stellation uses 24+24+48+48 = 144 units altogether.

The second stellation of the rhombic dodecahedron. I didn't count how many units it uses. There must be some way to work it out.

In fact the middle puzzle in the picture of Grant's puzzles is one of Stewart Coffin's designs, his Twelve-Piece Separation.

See pages 118–119 of Coffin's compendium _AP-ART_, which is online at https://www.puzzlemuseum.com/puzzles/coffin-ap-art/ap-art-2018.pdf

A huge variety of puzzles is possible even within the strictures of the classic six-piece burr – that is, puzzles that outwardly resemble the one on the left in Grant’s collection, but may have different internal designs. (They do talk about this in the interview.)

Already in 1994 Bill Cutler […]

Perhaps the most comprehensive book on burr puzzles was written by the man who also did the most to advance the art in the 20th century, Stewart Coffin.

His book _The Puzzling World of Polyhedral Dissections_ is available to read for free online at […]

A curious feature of the interview is that they didn‘t refer at all even to the existence of any sort of literature on these puzzles. They are treated rather like objects that have fallen from outer space, rather than products of human culture – perhaps because that is how the young Grant […]
