I missed Grit City Comic Show completely. I had so looked forward to being there. But at 6AM I unloaded all con boxes from my car and rushed a very dear friend to Urgent Care ER. She is a bit better now. Maybe okay in a few days. I wouldn't undo that decision but still wish I could have been there.

Getting ready for Grit City Comic Show in Tacoma Washington. Going through the con table box to find tablecloths, name banner etc. It's a one day show at the Tacoma Convention center. Very affordable and nice for families. Or, well, any comic fans

In the 80s I lived in Hawaii. Wahiwa. The cost of living was high. The military families in base housing were using food stamps. The pay was so low they qualified by Hawaii standards. The moms worked at the PX bagging groceries for tips. Is this still true?

My brag for the day. I have A flock of California grouse eating Hawthorn berries in my pasture. I recorded the calls and the Merlin bird ID app told me they were rare! At least in my area. Very pretty birds.

I hope we are amassing a stockpile of vaccines for when an outbreak of measles, Mumps or rubella reminds us that these can be dangerous. I think people may suddenly want to vaccinate. Want scary stuff? Look up what happens to an adult male when he gets Mumps and it descends into his testicles.

Heading into Seattle later today for Worldcon. I want to go. But the plums will ripen while I am gone. My dog will not get her back rub. The wild bunnies will feast on my green beans. Cat will not get morning half&half at my 6 AM coffee break. Small holding tragedies.
