On top of that you want to talk about fair while women's sports are underfunded and non athlete positions for women in the sports field are non-existent? Just make more youth sports completely co-ed. Youth already participate in co-ed recreation at school so just make organized sports co-ed too.

But when people say "I don't think young trans girls should play sports that align with their gender because I don't think it's fair and here's a bad faith high level competition example of why" you're being the jerk that would make a child go sit down because they don't understand the rules yet.

Did the umpire hold a 6 year old to the same rules as the MLB and make me sit in the dugout? No he let me stay on the base and taught me the rule because youth sports and pro sports aren't the same.

to the dugout at which point the kid on the other team that did have the ball tagged me.

Now in an MLB game I'd be out because even though I left the base because the other player lied to me, it's my job as the baserunner to listen to the umpire not the player on the other team.

I played baseball growing up and in my very first game I was running from one base to the next when one of the kids on the other team ran up to me and tagged me right before I touched the base and said "you're out." That kid did not have the ball. I didn't know any better so I started walking back

possible). The debate in what is considered fair and not at that level of competition could be debated ad nauseam and everything can be found to be unfair if you squint just right.

So why are we applying the same standard to CHILDREN?

level.

When we talk about pro and collegiate sports we are about the absolute UPPER echelon of athletic talent. At that level of talent that smallest variables can make the biggest differences in how an athlete performs (some athletes will ENGINEER their body movements to be as efficient as

Now the jump to the next level is where things change. There are currently 530,000 athletes competing in NCAA sports (That is 6% of the total number of high school athletes). The odds get worse at the pro level as less than 1% of high school athletes will ever play their sport at the professional

lessons such as comradery, teamwork, self improvement, self discipline, sportsmanship, etc. all while having good and healthy competition, because at the end of the day, and I can't stress this enough, these are children.

or athletic extracurricular activity. Further an estimated 8 million athletes participate in school sponsored high school sports (so roughly 29% of the total number of youth participating in recreational sports).

It is in these two categories where the PRIMARY point is supposed to be teaching

Now while most of the sports that we CONSUME is at the collegiate level or higher, that level of competition makes up the smallest percentage of athletes in the United States.

In numerical terms, it is estimated that 27.3 million U.S. youth participate in some form of recreational sport

Most of the bills targeting trans people participating in sports are wide reaching and can affect organized sports at ALL levels, yet when the "fairness" argument comes up it's centered almost entirely on the highest levels of competition at the collegiate level and higher.

Same here. It feels impossible to keep up with every single news item at every level.

bigots pls hear me on this

we come from nothing as a community, less than nothing even. we've been locked up, electrocuted, forcefully detransitioned and faced a myriad of tortures for who we are.

still here. still fighting. still kicking ass.

one day you will die and we will still be here.
