The year is 2026. You travel to the US to cheer for your country in the FIFA World Cup.

You wake up in an El Salvadorian prison. Trump mocks your situation on Fox News.
You’re never to be heard of again.

The end.

Imagine writing something like this just a year ago.

One side effect of AI chatbots integrated into apps: they let you easily see what users actually want to achieve, as they’re literally typing it and sending it to you in plain English. High-signal insights that would otherwise be incredibly hard to get.

I certainly didn’t have two presidents being front and centre of a crypto rug pull within the same month on my bingo card. First Trump, now Milei.

Argentina: Milei faces impeachment threat over crypto post – DW – 02/16/2025
The Argentinian president posted about a new cryptocurrency on social media before deleting the post hours later. In that short period of time, the cryptocurrency rose in value before tanking.

It's still funny to me that you have a 3x better chance to resolve an issue you have with a company by complaining and tagging their CEO on twitter than using the official support channels.

Even if you're not the biggest fan of @tailwindcss.com, it's probably one of the best choices in the age of AI autocomplete.

No LLM really knows what your internal css class names mean, but they do understand tailwind pretty well.

People keep dissecting Elon’s “Roman Salute” meanwhile he’s at rallies with Germany’s right-wing party saying there’s “too much focus on past guilt” and “children should not be guilty of the sins of their parents, let alone their great-grandparents.”

When people show who they are, believe them.

Why a unionized warehouse in Quebec posed a threat to Amazon | CBC News
Amazon has announced plans to close all of its Quebec facilities, laying off 1,700 permanent employees, months after workers in Laval, Que., made history by unionizing. Experts say the move could prom...

This is so spot on. Two things:

1. Being focused on producing output the fastest way possible means that you will never prioritize "going deep"

2. Going deep (and down the rabbit hole) is how you learn more: but you need to balance it.

Figure out how to do both: it's tricky!

Always great when an app injects random JavaScript into your web app and breaks stuff.

Don’t ask me why I know about this, and thanks to whoever reported this on Kaspersky’s help forums! Saved a lot of people a ton of time.

I'm obviously biased since it's a Shopify project, but I think remote-dom (fka remote-ui) is severely under hyped.

It allows 3P devs to extend and augment your app's UI without giving them access to the actual page the UI is rendered on. Your user's data is safe.

I think I finally understand the purpose of SharePlay. Maybe I’m just a boomer, but I can’t imagine anyone ever watching a movie with friends over FaceTime. So I never got that feature.

However, two people watching the same movie wearing a VisionPro in the same room, that does make sense to me.
