Up thru high school you have 1-2 hrs tests and learn that 50-60% is a "pass". In higher education that might creep up to 80%. During OJT you discover the difference between "pass" & 100% is immeasurable. Only those who have that drive and skill will survive and every shift is an 8hr test.

Now there's a blast from the past... not the airplane, but the photographer. I first encountered Bruce Drum back in the ancient past when "photo sharing" meant putting a slide or negative in an envelope and dropping it off at the post office.

What's the over/under on how long it will take before the airlines start demanding compensation or bailouts due to the government imposed loss of revenue and other costs? Are the letters already drafted?

The owners want the extra revenue at inflatedprices, the media needs the hype and tension. The fans and players are just there to provide the above and are otherwise irrelevant.

I think AN-2s were often painted just b4 a flight so the crew would have something to do - watching the paint dry - during the flight. I know my 30 min ride was "most leisurely". 😁

OTOH, one could be noticed standing by the fence in Canada and get invited airside by a proud pilot to tour an Aeroflot IL-18 that had just arrived from Moscow (souvenirs included).
