This is straight up bribery/theft. The Trump DOJ will settle any lawsuit regardless of merit as reward to these traitorous Senators.

I have no doubt we are in an AI bubble, but this is almost a contra-indicator.

Trump will tell his DOJ to settle with the insurrectionist Senators even though there would be no legitimate case should anything actually reach a judge.
It's a bribe disguised as a legal settlement along the same lines as Trump pulled with ABC and CBS.

New blood needed.
2026 is going to be a rout. First for centrists Dems during the primaries, then for every Repub down to dog catcher in November.

Instead of having "fuck you money", it seems he's let his obscene wealth become a shackle and chain.

I lived in Japan for 5 years and have a reasonable understanding of their 80s bubble. While increased leverage through longer terms loans was a factor, I just don't see how introducing 50 year mortgages in the US changes anything when we already have IO loans (which don't exist in Japan).

We already have interest only loans which are essentially infinity year mortgages.
This seems like a nothing-burger. It neither helps with home ownership nor creates some weird investment loophole (though maybe there's something I'm missing on that front).

It's difficult for folks who are both successful and intelligent to acknowledge the degree that luck plays in success - instead they are quick to attribute it entirely to their personal virtues. For many it leads to this cycle where that one (lucky) success makes them believe in their infallibility.

You're correct that he can never meet those goals, but the pay package allows the Board to waive those milestone requirements.
He has a captured BOD and is going to drain all of Tesla's equity into his personal accounts. The goals in the pay package were only to convince shareholders to approve it.

He doesn't need to meet any performance milestones. The agreement allows the Board to waive the milestones requirements in his pay package if they choose.

No, the Board can waive milestone requirements for his pay package in the case of a "covered event".
The non-exhaustive list of covered events including benign things like changes to federal or state regulations. He has a captured BOD so will be paid even if sales continue to tank.

Idiotic. Even if this could work to balance CO2 driven warming, no thought to the other effects of reduced solar radiation hitting the surface.

Yep, that's the game.
No chance these goals are hit, it was just puffery to convince gullible shareholders that the pay package was somehow in their interests.

Can we talk more about the list of "covered events" in the Tesla/Musk $1T pay package, which is basically a reverse force majeure clause that gives the board an excuse "to pay out" money even if Musk doesn't meet milestones? WTAF??

Confirming, zero chance he hits the goals. Zero!
The pay package has an extensive list of "covered events" which allows the Board to give him the shares even if the targets are missed.

You've got recent history going for your prediction, but I very much doubt he can sustain the fraud with more failures unless he has something at least minimally credible.
If it is clear neither Optimus nor Cybertaxi is gold, then he's dead. Though maybe a Trump DoD Optimus pre-buy helps a bit.
