The book by Prof. Daniel Immerwahr (_How to Hide an Empire_) describes how “Manifest Destiny” has been American foreign policy for most of American history.
So, the question I ask as a man ordained to preach the gospel, what is the hermeneutical import of this story?

In this sense, America has been a Christian nation. But at a deeper level, America has been an imperial nation. We’ve learned about America’s 18th century “revolution” as a “war of liberation”. It was, rather, a war to expand the British empire of King George III, as were the previous settlements.

American cities are showing up at Hands Off protests. We should be protesting the militarily budget. It’s still bombs and guns that are extracting money from domestic security. Please get Chris Murphy back on your show to expose Trump’s objectives.

Before the 1980s, Republicans were the "pro-business" party in opposition to the "pro-people" Democratic Party. During the past 40 years, "pro-business" has become "pro-monopoly" and "pro-people" has become "pro-consumption". The national advantages of a capitalist economy have become liabilities.

Billionaires may not be "bad" people, but when 0.000000000125 percent of the U.S. population controls $6.75 trillion (an average of nearly $80 billion per, or 400,000 TIMES the median household wealth in America) --> THAT'S BAD!!
