A lil re-read before watching the adaptation? Seems like it would be rude not to!

Going to the in-laws is always a treat. Yes, that's a bowl of pegs soaking in the sink - complete with a random strap.

Started re-reading this today; I honestly can't really remember a thing about it so thought I better.

Coincidentally it's Camus' birthday, which feels loosely like providence.

Nellie very much did NOT want me to go for a run today.

I agreed.

Went anyway.

It's easy for me to write unlikeable characters because I'm a very unlikeable person ❤️

Time to see what all the fuss is about!

I didn't get round to reading it when it was a @ofmooseandmen.bsky.social - they put out too many good books it's impossible to keep up - so the new edition will have to do.

My punishment is the "now on TV" 'sticker' on the cover. I am suitably humbled.

My spooky week book is one that needs no explanation.

If you've read it, you know. If you haven't, read it right now.

Don't you just hate it when you think you've done all the washing and you find something in the bottom of the basket?

Happy Caturday!

Did someone say Halloween?

Did a little shopping today; Sinners is one of the best films - not just horror but of all genres - of the last 5 years.

Audition is a masterpiece; disturbing and grotesque but incredible.

I haven't seen The Host but have heard very good things.

Spooky season is fast approaching!

Why not go for something a little different: an anti-romcom that's "downright chilling"...

My wife and I came third in a Disney Villains pub quiz last night.

The real highlight?

The books that inspired THE ONES WE FEAR!

1) The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
2) Carrie by Stephen King
3) Firestarter by Stephen King
4) Weyward by Emilia Hart

PSA: Firestarter is the best Stephen King book no one ever talks about.

Finally managed to set aside 3 hours to watch Kinds of Kindness last night; what a strange and interesting film.

I like things very weird, but this was nuts even by my standards.

Incredible performances from Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau and of course Willem Dafoe.

Re-reading this one as it's been a few years and I can't help but think, why on earth have they made a film of The Long Walk?

It's an excellent story, but I can only imagine it might just be the most boring film ever made.

(Book also has Roadwork and The Running Man)

What a pleasure to be able to visit the location of Turbine 34 on the day I finish it.

Such a deep, heartfelt tale told in so few words. The threads that are weaved together are wonderful and I loved every word.
