"Primitive" - Killing Joke. The closing tune from their first album. I miss Geordie

"The Wait" - Killing Joke. We lost Geordie two years ago today. Loved this tune from the first time I heard it, on college radio in 1982

It's commonly said that the onboard "distortion" on the Roland JC120 is useless. That's not quite right. It's definitely not a distortion. But at zero, it's useable for a light breakup tone

This PEZ dispenser has been lurking one of my old guitar cases for probably 35 years... that Damned pin, too

Today's guitar adventure. Bought this back in October, and took it to the good folks at British Audio for the routine kind of maintenance a 35 year-old amp needs: cleaned pots, tightened jacks, overall tune-up, etc. Now it's tip top. Apologies in advance to my neighbors

Every once in a while, I get an out-of-the-blue message from some or other kook from my 20s, and I take a moment to marvel at how the world is big enough for weirdos to thrive in

"Trying" - Dag Nasty. Planning to spend some time over TG break to work through Brian Baker's riff during the verse. Starting with the other stuff. Might post another clip if I make decent progress

You know I'm born to lose
And gambling's for fools
But that's the way I like it, baby
I don't want to live forever
And don't forget the joker

"Dirt Floor" - Chris Whitley. A perhaps surprising guitar obsession of mine. Cant believe it's been 20 years since he passed. Saw him a dozen times in NYC and Nashville. Great player. Obviously not playing this like he did...
