Featuring films by Richard Linklater, Sofia Coppola, Spike Lee, and Paul Thomas Anderson these dreamy, gritty, and glam sensations remix the music, fashion, and cultural iconography of a pivotal era.

One of the best movies of the 80s (and ever):
"The Breakfast Club" (1985)

I watched it yesterday, maybe for the 7th time, and it's still great! So if it's some time since you watched this film, maybe a movie evening..?

There is a lot of talk about empathy, and the ability to identify with others is an important quality. One hears much less about sympathy, which strikes me as the greater virtue. It is relatively easy to be kind to those you can identify with. It’s kindness to the “alien” that’s hard.

Carol "Pinky" Tuscadero (an old romantic flame of Fonzie's), appeared in only 3 episodes of Happy Days.

She also appeared again in an episode of the short-lived ABC-TV Happy Days spinoff series, Blansky's Beauties.

Looking forward to this new collection on Wittgenstein & Epistemology of Religion (edited by Duncan Pritchard & Nuno Venturinha) coming out next month.

It grew out of a couple of conferences held in Lisbon. Looking forward to reading the finished volume!

The trouble with lying and deceiving is that their efficiency depends entirely upon a clear notion of the truth that the liar and deceiver wishes to hide. In this sense, truth, even if it does not prevail in public, possesses an ineradicable primacy over all falsehoods.

The latter. And a very good metaphor.
Is AI More Like a Mind or a Market? A group of scholars argue we should think of it as a “social technology” akin to a bureaucracy, a democracy or a marketplace. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Mayor admits that of course, legally, they can arrest them. Then, worries it may not be “practical.” You have SWAT. You have thousands of officers. You have a state national guard. Do your freaking job. Jeez. 🙄
