More importantly the AI sector has a long running habit of using this kind of negative disclosure for marketing opportunities: "hey, someone has found a use for our technology, it's the bad guys, you better invest so you don't get caught out"

Anything as powerful as what was marketed would be used in secret and protected vigorously as trade secret for as long as humanly possible instead of being sold to you, the consumer.
