Given that I named my dogs Lady Brienne and Darlington Dogbe, I clearly dodged a bullet!

At least the teams in the proposed Northwest division tend to follow the "overachieve to reach success" category. Well, maybe with the exception of Seattle.

#Quakes74 might be losing the league's #10 Expected Goals (xG) leader, but they stand to get more minutes from the fifth highest Goals Added (g+) player in MLS.

Arena confirmed that Hernan Lopez will continue his loan move to Argentinos Juniors in his native Argentina through the 2026 MLS season and not be available again for the #Quakes74 until 2027. Lopez will not take up a DP roster slot for San Jose for the duration of his loan, Arena said.

There's still a lot to be learned about how he and the #Quakes74 will approach the offseason and 2026, but that will have to wait for another day. Arena's bullish on many of his defenders (Munie, Jones, Floriani, Roberts), but knows the backline needs to be more robust.

It's sad that The Town FC just last night hosted the first home playoff match at PayPal Park since the stadium's opening ten years (11 seasons) ago.

Missed it by that much.

Don't count out the #Quakes74!

Yeah, I always appreciate that he is willing to give a direct answer when asked a direct question. He's knows the challenge in San Jose is multilayered, and he's not been shy about calling out the issues as he sees them.

Given the absurdly high valuations for MLS teams right now (well north of $500M), it might be the only way a sale gets done.

This was the first I've heard about the likelihood Fisher will remain as a part of the ownership group of the Earthquakes. I'm not surprised by Arena's comment, but I know there are plenty of supporters who'd like to see a clean break and a fresh start for the #Quakes74.
