I'm wary of Instagram hacks, but gotta say planting garlic with a bulb auger was fantastic. Over 100 cloves in less than two hours, and that included weeding!

I promised myself I wasn't going to scream at this Bears game.

Someone's going to be real sad about the off flavor in their honey from the bee who just visited my broccoli.

The best thing about tonight's Bears game is that I didn't try to get a ticket to see it in person. Good grief what garbage.

Was about to post about making green chile and suddenly realized I didn't check if I had canned tomatoes and dear God I did NOT want to have to go to the store today. 🍽️

This may be the first time I've ever made (or had?) sardines. Good recipe from toriavey.com/mediterranea.... I'd maybe notch back on the red pepper flakes and go the full set of capers. But very tasty! It's growing on me. 🍽️

These lobster tails with homemade chipotle mayo from Rick Bayless' "One Plate at a Time" were well worth the relatively light effort. Happy New Year!

Enshittification via AI: SiriusXM is playing an 80's "Top 500 Countdown" show, with numbers announced by a humanish voice. Bob Seger's "Shakedown" was three spots higher than "Start Me Up". What are we counting down here, exactly? This is nonsense.

I'm glad I decided not to toast last night, because now my liver needs room for a lot of whiskey.

Butternut squash soup. A little too thick, so adding more stock. The picky-palate teenager has declared she will die if forced to eat it.
