I reported on Chicago media from 1980 to 2022.
Gary Deeb, the influential Chicago TV and radio critic once dubbed "The Terror of the Tube" by Time magazine, died May 17 at 79. I worked as Deeb's legman at the Sun-Times from 1980 to 1983.

Richard Roeper was a star in his own right. Whether holding his own with Roger Ebert on TV, or chatting with Tom Cruise or Jay Leno. But he was also a kid from Dolton who never forgot where he came from, or who his friends were. He was at my wedding in 1990, and my son's bris in 1997. A true loss.

If you’re not appalled by this reckless and inexplicable action by a too-powerful entity that’s far more enmeshed in our lives than it should be, heaven help you. Heaven help all of us.

Robert Feder exists, dammit.

As 2024 ended, Meta permanently disabled my personal
Facebook account, saying it "doesn't follow our Community Standards on account integrity." I have no idea why. My appeal was denied without explanation or recourse. Now I have no access to any of my content or contacts. What now?

My name is Terence, and I run T Dog Media, a website I started in 2006 to write about local and national media. I'm looking forward to being here on Bluesky. I'll post my work here and share articles about the media biz. Glad to be aboard!

Played this Murrow classic on the show today. The legendary CBS News journalist said this 70 years ago about McCarthy: “We will not walk in fear, one of another.”
