Digital Strategy for California YIMBY, Chair of Sierra Club Seattle. Personal account -- what you see here represents my own opinions, for better or worse.
Even though he ran away from this site, kudos to Lakshya Jain for adjusting his priors based on data. Voters aren't angry at Dems for school closures. In fact, they recognize closures were absolutely necessary and good.

This is exactly the headline you want to see if you're Katie Wilson. There are still some voters who were anxious about her "experience." She kept saying she'd have good, experienced people as part of the team and that's exactly what she has done. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

I don’t think FIFA would move the World Cup from Seattle. Trump is full of bluster. But this isn’t on Katie Wilson to address. It’s on Seattle’s business community, which needs to stop falsely claiming Seattle isn’t safe if they want to protect their potential profits. More here:

Meanwhile the Seattle Times weighs in, apparently not knowing that the City of Seattle actually plays a substantial role in bus service via the Seattle Transportation Benefit District, which provides a significant amount of $$ to Metro and thus giving the City a say in how Metro operates

Oh, and don't forget the gratuitous shot at queer and trans communities at the very end of this screed:

During the election season I started doing short videos to try and reach the normies to push back against attacks on Katie Wilson. Seemed to have worked, so I kept at it. This one from yesterday on rail to West Seattle and Ballard has done huge numbers so far.

It is now Wikipedia official en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katie_W...

Katie Wilson now leads by 1,976 votes -- almost out of recount territory! If she leads by 2,000 votes or more, no recount will be mandated. Either way, @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social is going to be our next mayor! You love to see it.
November 12, 2025 at 11:24 PM
And @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social jumps out to a much bigger lead with today's ballot drop -- from 91 votes yesterday to 1,346 today! Hard to see Harrell coming back now!
November 12, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Woohoo! @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social now leads the Seattle mayor's race by 91 votes!
November 10, 2025 at 11:55 PM
So, this is an interesting analysis from @awongpublic.bsky.social - since 2005, only two people (out of 36) have gotten elected to the Seattle school board without a Stranger endorsement. And none since 2011. Whereas the Times is batting just above .500 www.reddit.com/r/seattlepub...

That map of a proposed CA split is quite a choice given how Prop 50 actually played out. Inland California is much more Democratic than these folks claim:

Could the Seattle mayoral election go to a recount? And if so, how would it work? I answer those questions here:

I'm generally a fan of the @seattlesubway.org vision map: Ballard Link goes up 15th to Holman and then to Northgate, Lake City, and beyond; and then a separate line from downtown all the way up Aurora. www.seattlesubway.org/regional-map/
November 7, 2025 at 7:49 PM
Very happy to be wrong about that one - go Sherrill!
November 5, 2025 at 1:19 AM
Still haven’t voted? Wondering what to do on school board races? Go to the most trustworthy source: the progressive parents who fought against austerity. They’re endorsing Clark, Mizrahi, Song, and LaVallee: www.alltogetherforseattleschools.org/home/electio...
November 4, 2025 at 10:46 PM
I think I was definitely right that voters weren’t as animated about defund this year as in recent elections, per this part of Danny Westneat’s recent column. Whether Wilson will win though…I’m hopeful! www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

If you’re like me and would prefer to read an article rather than watch a video, here’s the detailed reasoning for these four candidates from All Together for Seattle Schools, the parent group that led the fight against austerity in SPS: www.alltogetherforseattleschools.org/home/electio...
November 3, 2025 at 1:56 AM
Filling out your ballot tonight? Not sure what to do on school board races? Progressive parents are voting for Sarah Clark, Joe Mizrahi, Vivian Song, and Jen LaVallee. Give me 2 minutes and I’ll explain why:
November 3, 2025 at 1:56 AM
The Seattle Times and Bruce Harrell’s allies claim that @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social is doing well only because voters are mad at Trump. Are they right? Of course not. As I explain here, with help from @nwprogressive.org polls, voters are fed up with Harrell’s failures on key local issues:

Oh that I can do
October 31, 2025 at 9:56 PM
Who should you vote for in the school board election? It’s an easy (and important) call: Sarah Clark, Joe Mizrahi, Vivian Song, Jen LaVallee. The progressive parents who organized austerity recommend that slate: www.alltogetherforseattleschools.org/home/electio...

Here in SF to support the great @scottwiener.bsky.social for Congress - the fighter we need to take on “the nightmare,” as he calls it, that is the Trump regime

This says it all: an article about whether one should ride rail despite occasional disruptions, with a banner alert noting freeway delays. Should you still drive a car despite persistent disruptions on the road?!
