Hired a few voice actors to do those "what do you need" and "I'm on my way" barks you hear when you have a character do something in an isometric RPG. Was surprisingly economical using r/Voicework. And results have been really good.

I thought I’d change things up a bit and talk about one of the backend systems in Revenge of the Firstborn, the AI system. utility AI, each action that an agent can take is given a “utility” score where utility refers to how happy the actor would be if it took the given action.

In Revenge of the Firstborn, armor class is specific to damage types, so full plate protects better against slashing damage than bludgeoning and leather armor protects better against bludgeoning than piercing. This is one of several optional rules in the game. #screenshotsaturday

Pretty cool development for Revenge of the Firstborn this week. Zappastuff, the modder behind the unfinished business mod for Solasta reached out to me about modding my game. He's got early access to the game now and I can't wait to see what he creates to expand the experience!
