I'm doing that with an ebay purchase it in 25mm. Mostly painted Crimean War French with figures not made anymore.

Depends when and where. The ones with Trajan were probably very good, the ones with Marcus Aurelius, likely as well. Severus famously dismissed them all and reformed them, and after that, not so much.
