No updates on writing or publishing unfortunately. Need to crack back into both. Lots of rejections though. For some pretty stupid reasons too.

This is every day for me unfortunately. Made worse by the recent Aussie heatwaves.

#Writing question:
Trying to avoid cliche for a novel title but which one just sounds better or feels nicer to say out aloud?

A: The Mercenary's Elegy

B: The Assassin's Elegy.

I lean towards B but so many fantasy novels have Assassin in the title these days.

I can now write in bed before going to sleep on my new laptop and this won't end well for anyone - especially my editor.

Was going to set aside the weekend for writing & going over unfinished old works but between the unstable bouts of bipolar & my current inability to type properly, probably best to rest & plan.

Anyone who suggests using LLM or Speech to Text shall be mocked & blocked (when I check this account).

Haven't been checking this account much, since haven't been able to write. will try to stay on top of that more.

Am still after an agent and/or publisher, since suffered too many barriers to self publishing right now. Not to mention not wanting to go through Amazon at all because of current stuff.

Having issues with a indie publisher because their 'sensitivity consultant is clearly an unqualified grifter her forced their way into the position because they are trying to argue with that the the word "transcendental" is a slur & is refusing to let me publish unless I fix that.

Happy new year to all.

Was going through some old notes & found the intro to a spec-fic Neo Nior I wrote around 15 years ago that went:
"My time in England was represented by warm beer and cold women. Still, I liked the place."
Cliched I know by should revisit that idea again.

Trying to get back to novel writing after months of not doing it (work & short stories have been my focus of late) but finding myself struggling with getting the right words & spelling.
So have to take it slow again & not force things less mistakes are badly made.

Ah, nothing like being accused of Cultural Appropriation in my writing by a white person who uses a Japanese screen name & bases their personality entirely on East Asian media consumption.
Bonus points for them having had a Bollywood period too, complete with south Asian apparel.

The people who complain about not having flying cars because it's the 21st Century are the same people I don't trust to know how to go around a Roundabout properly.

Finally able to log back in. Now let us see if it will let me link up accounts.
