I'm having wicked dreams of leaving OKC. Hear Santa Monica, I swear it's calling me.
All I had seen was Sicario. I knew his shows were popular. I was so excited to have a major show shot in my hometown (OKC stood in for Tulsa in s1). I spent time on set as background. My car actually made it into the show.

Imagine my disappointment when I watched it.

It honestly took me a minute to figure out why this would be the case.

Oh for sure! It was a really great class and I learned a lot about Roman culture. She also took us to a Latin festival at a local university which was really fun.

In hindsight it was much more of a class on Roman culture; the actual Latin language was secondary. Not a complaint, just interesting.

The greatest thing my Latin teacher did was make us watch I, Claudius. At first, the class was Way To Cool to watch this hokey PBS thing. I recall napping.

But very quickly we got hooked and enthralled and engaged and every other word that means sucked in.

(we didn't learn much Latin though)

Gender markers shouldn't even be on passports at all in the first place. They are unnecessary and I'm glad Justice Jackson hints at this. They weren't even added until 1972 when women started to be able to travel independently of their husbands and fathers.

The government has previously made reference to potentially revoking the passports of those issued this year as part of the class. Unclear if they will actually try to do so and whether the trial court will allow them to do so.

Justice Jackson sharply dissents yet again from SCOTUS interfering with trial court decisions on important matters by always siding with the Trump administration.

The language in the unsigned opinion will be utilized to try and overturn existing cases and bolster increasing bans on gender marker changes. Incorrect gender markers on ID's can out trans people and subject them to harassment, abuse, and even severe violence. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...
Legal gender marker and name change is associated with lower negative emotional response to gender-based mistreatment and improve mental health outcomes among trans populations
In recent years, Massachusetts (MA) and Rhode Island (RI) joined a growing list of states allowing residents to easily change the gender marker and name on government-identification (ID) documents. This was an important change for transgender and ...
