Fox watched the snowfall, utterly captivated.
She could watch forever, her mind drifting along with the snowflakes as they floated and fell with each whisper of wind.
Well, maybe not for too long actually. She was getting pretty chilly and quite fancied curling up somewhere warm.

It's literally so annoying that if you're trans and advocate for your own human dignity, people will call you a mean scary "transactivist" but then the only other options are to meekly allow one's own erasure from society or spend all one's time humbly begging to be accepted as a subclass of human

Would you like a gentle and inspiring start to your weekend?

If so, I'd recommend reading this piece I wrote for Barley magazine about drystone, the land, resilience and the life lessons learned from this ancient craft.

🧵About 10 years ago, I applied for a volunteer counsellor position at a local, ‘reputable’ counselling organisation. They replied pretty quickly with the effect of saying thanks but no thanks, and the line that stayed with me was that they "have enough Chinese counsellors” (1/4)

One thing I find interesting about the echo chamber complaint is that an echo chamber just won a presidential election.

Put aside the convo of whether it’s “good” or “bad” for a moment. The far right has devoted enormous resources + time to building echo chambers & loathes spaces they don’t control
The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

Tim Burton (Portugal 2018)

This scene always looked like a movie set to me, hence the title. Clouds kept moving in and obscured the sun.

Sadly the tree fell later that year. When i revisited the area this year all I found was some remaining wood on the ground.
