Also, if he's not, should get himself on LinkedIn. Like it or loath it, good place to build a profile in this industry and find opportunities.

I wouldn't worry about that - what you have described is probably a double digit % of most accountants!
Being trusted with clients isn't an usual issue. Most firms will be like this with juniors (regardless of their makeup).
Genuine shortage of good candidates so there should be plenty of opps.

Likewise, it was throwing up all sorts of weird stuff for me. And I found if you looked at one particular post it would start to show multiple posts from the same account in the feed - drove me nuts

I assume you're in the UK? Tbh some accountancy firms do seem to be getting better at accommodating for neutodiverse people, but it's mixed. Is he studying for an accounting qualification? Icaew etc?
