Not quite out: by my calculation, the deposit threshold for Stanley was 150 and four candidates including one incumbent lost their deposits:
Pete Biggs, Grant Budd, Chris Clarke and Clovis Kilmartin
Full Stanley #result for #FalklandsElection25, with due credit again to Falklands Radio:

Not a 2009-style clean sweep, but it might as well as have been
In so far as left right politics apply in the #Falklands, it’s definitely a quite a shift to the right
I think a fair summary is that the new Assembly will be “business friendly” and fiscally conservative

STANLEY RESULT #FalklandsElection25 #result
Lewis Clifton and Cheryl Roberts top the poll
Stacy Bragger, Dean Dent and Roger Spink make up the rest of the 5

Pete Biggs loses both his seat and his deposit
Mark Pollard, Gavin Short and Leona Vidal lose their seats

Four hours from close of poll to the end of count and the hall empties 45 minutes before last orders!
Falklands Radio closed down at 10.20pm after Ali promised that I’ll be on air to reopen the station in just over eight and a half hours time!
#FalklandsElection25 is over and this #liveskeet is out!

Only 1 of the 5 Stanley MLAs from the last Assembly re-elected
Two former MLAs get back onto the Assembly
Two new faces
December 12, 2025 at 1:08 AM
From what I could make out of the first few numbers, it looks as if at least two MLAs from the last Assembly have lost their seats and up to three former MLAs are back

Falklands Radio studio trying to sort something out

More info when I get it…

STANLEY RESULT
Except the OB fails at a crucial moment!!!
December 12, 2025 at 1:00 AM
Except that the returning officer has now called the Stanley candidates forward (after less than 4 minutes, not 40!)
Announcement imminent!

Falklands Radio is taking a musical break from live coverage of the #FalklandsElection25 count and this #liveskeet will take a break too ..
December 12, 2025 at 12:55 AM
A member of the business community seems confident that the “key” candidates will be elected

Clovis Kilmartin “very confident” but “can’t give an interview tonight”

Meanwhile, “a lot of calculator button pushing and a lot of staring at screens”

Latest prediction is 40 minutes until a declaration!
December 12, 2025 at 12:53 AM
(I had no ambitions to run for election but I was once told it would be “hilarious” if I ever did become an MLA: it was claimed that it improve transparency because I would sulk publicly every time I got outvoted!!!)

Mark Pollard says he has “no idea” about his chances of re-election and was “pleasantly surprised” the last twice

“Not very long” now until a declaration for Stanley - the Town Hall is now “very busy”

I hope my news colleagues at Falklands Radio won’t mind me posting their fb graphic, duly credited (Good job, Olly!)

Jack Ford was an MLA for the second half of the last Assembly but is Stanley resident and a former FIG internal auditor
The other three candidates all live and work on Camp farms
December 12, 2025 at 12:32 AM
Gimme Hope Jo’anna was either a bold or naive choice!

Lee Summers has turned up late to the count and explains it was because he had been making mince pies!
December 12, 2025 at 12:24 AM
The counters’ work seems to be done and the live coverage on Falklands Radio is taking a break with Darius Rucker’s version of Wagon Wheel!

The Stanley result in #FalklandsElection25 is just a few minutes away

Then I can work out what musical puns I am going to make on the breakfast show tomorrow
December 12, 2025 at 12:19 AM
The hall suddenly went quiet at the #FalklandsElection25 count, but we are that no announcement seems imminent so the candidate interview and box pops continue

(Dead Ringers once joked that BBC election coverage consisted of seven hours of nothing followed by an hour of something!)
December 12, 2025 at 12:14 AM
Asked for a prediction, Dean Dent (one of the “younger” candidates) said he “couldn’t possibly comment” when asked to predict the result
December 12, 2025 at 12:07 AM
Cheryl Roberts says she has “no inkling”
Gavin Short (on the last Assembly) says he can’t call the election but thinks he might not get back on …
December 12, 2025 at 12:03 AM
Glenn Ross predicted two MLAs will get back in Stanley and three will not (but not which)
He also predicted that Lewis Clifton and Cheryl Roberts (both prominent businesspeople) will get in and one of the “younger” candidates
He stable he will be happy whether or not he gets elected
December 12, 2025 at 12:03 AM
The Camp count took about 2 3/4 hours from close of polls

The Camp constituency covers over 12,000 square miles and mobile polling teams collected votes from farms and settlements yesterday as well as static polling for 6 hours at two bigger (less small) settlements and also in Stanley

The Governor has just been interviewed on air and said he was “fascinated” by the level of engagement and pleased by the high turnout at #FalklandsElection25
