Right-NIMBYism is just republicans being like “we’re evil and want what’s worst for everyone” whereas left-NIMBYs claim to want the same goal as me but then advocate for policies that make the problem worse.

I know LA Metro has a ton of expansion plans (certainly the largest rail transit expansion of any place in the US, arguably in North America). I really think the largest thing holding back the system is land-use, so many of the homes & destinations around transit are still incredibly car dependent.

I'm an engineering manager in SoCal, and every year some of the best and brightest engineers leave the state to start families. Build more housing!
