Journalist/writer. For a long time, I've covered the intersection of business and politics. Much of my business focus has been on real estate. Politics has a major influence on real estate. I also worked in politics early in my career in DC.

I just watched former Sen. Toomey cast killing extending the 2017 tax "reform" as a tax increase. That's some spin. Personally, we didn't get a tax cut ultimately because of SALT limits. Home values rose so much we couldn't write off the higher property taxes.

Democrats have been doing a lot of hand-wringing over 2024 election results. I've said since 2016 that it's a simple explanation that has nothing do with policy. We are still a very sexist country. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

People screaming that Dems don't have a strategy probably should consider quieting down some. The best strategy could be just let the Republicans make unforced errors, a lot of them. "Never interrupt your opponent while he is in the middle of making a mistake."

With his decision, Bezos, who supposedly is a great businessman, has told the world that WaPo's opinion page is no longer a market for different ideas, which to me means, he just gave away business. He's already lost a ton of revenue from canceled subs and makes this move?

My WaPo subscription was set to renew next month, but I went ahead and canceled it. Diversity of opinions on a newspaper's opinion page makes the world go round. His decision to focus opinion solely on personal liberties and free markets and differing opinions can be written elsewhere.

From WaPo about Trump voters. They don't want things to get better for themselves. They want you to feel the same pain they supposedly feel. “I can’t work from home,” Malloy said, standing by the diner’s swinging kitchen door, holding a half-glass of milk, with a black apron tied around her torso.

There'a been a lot of media talk about how "the Resistance is dead" for which the evidence is Dem electeds aren't fighting and cable news and WaPo/NYT subscription numbers are down.

We should not overread into this one result, but consider: those might be the last Resistance's metrics.
