I adore this movie. I went to a screening of The Apartment just to see what the geniuses behind SLIH did next. Now I think of SLIH as what the geniuses behind The Apartment did leading up to it. It's an amazing pair of films.

I think you missed that absolutely nobody has said a single thing about spending. Either the money from inheritance gets deleted, or it gets added to an imaginary ledger nobody cares about. At no point does government spending change. Revenue does not impact spending at all.

But let's say I have a magic box, and I can pull as much money out of it as I want, and in fact I pull more out every year than I put in. What does it matter if I put money in or just set it on fire?

Okay, I'm not knowledgeable on this stuff so consider this more of a follow up question than an answer, but

What's the difference?

Sorry I was watching Frosty with the kids :) I guess I just didn't find the name of the game a good example card. I would have appreciated a few combinations you were more likely to get by playing.

I imagine it's cards like these, but with like... takes?

This game looks like a cool idea so please don't think I'm hating. But the landing page I'm seeing has 2 mugs, 2 shirts, 3 testimonials, and 1 photo of what the game might look like but it's clearly not the actual game because it's marketing copy. I'm left imagining what the game might actually be.

Please add some real examples to the landing page. As far as I can tell, there are only fake ones right now.

I went to mine today. It was their last day open and I got $200 of stuff for $100.

This is so true, but also delightful when it's not. For example, Sherlock Holmes hits exactly as hard as its reputation.

And five years earlier you had The Seven Year Itch.

Instantly reminded me of the Madeline books I'm reading my daughter at night :)

Do you think your opinion of this movie was colored by the recently perfect Final Destination movie? Because I saw this before that, and would have placed it way above 6/10. But I wonder more if that's because I was starved of good Final Destination content.

But you do know, we all know, it's TikTok. We just don't want to go there. For good reasons too, but that's always what old people say.

The Trump administration has sadly ruined most of The West Wing for me. The high drama stakes of a POSSIBLE Congressional subpoena just don't hit when you realize you can just ignore them or lie without repercussion. Every plot could be instantly solved by lying, denial, or ignoring it.

Skipping the step of getting the power, because elections feel like random noise to me now, I think focusing on root causes.

Congressional rules that can pass normal bills normally. Then HR1 times 10.

The good news is, mindless voters actually want big change, they don't care what direction.

It's normal for most of the major generic cinemas. If you're lucky enough to live near an Alamo Drafthouse it's an avoidable evil.

I probably would have said yes before J6.

I like Rose + The End of the World better as an introduction to Doctor Who, but I admit Blink is also a pretty great one.

We should respect MechaHitler's chosen name.

Sadly two PlayStations are required for two people in the same room to play most multiplayer games together these days. (I don't think that's what's happening here)
