Mostly interested in Football, Data and AI (for productivity, not art). From 🇵🇹
I'm with karpathy here. We have a lot to figure out, and AGI won't come in the next decade. They've been over promising quite a lot, so I pretty sure an AI crash is coming soon. the sooner it happens, the better.

Also, I know how hard it is to move to a new city (can only imagine what it's like going to a different country), so feel free to ask whatever. You've given me hundreds of hours of entertainment, and you're my neighbor now, so I'll try to help if I can.

Your accent is spot on, man. Good job. Btw, to eat the best fish you need to come to Matosinhos (less than 10km away as the cod swims).

I thought this was settled in the VCR days: if you want to a watch sports event after it happens, it's on you to avoid all media until you do.

I'm a believer in AI and I absolutely think there's a bubble. I don't think OpenAI and NVIDIA valuations are sustainable, Meta is absolutely burning money with no end on sight. Google and Microsoft are probably fine though l.

You'll have to adjust to people being relaxed about stuff, that will happen a lot. Also, keep in mind that we do also have assholes here. Ignore them.

As the oldest /fimcast fan in Portugal (listening to it probably since the Kevin Smith episode), I demand you let me buy you a drink sometime.

That original post is pretty dumb, it deserves to get ratioed.

Like most Portuguese clubs, Sporting are very reliant on player sales, earning €633m in the last decade, including a record €102m last season - and that is before the sale of Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal #SportingCP #AFC

Bubble bursts and recessions are underrated. They're the fever of the economy - yeah, they suck to go through, but they're actually useful, not the thing that causes the real problem.

True, but i's important to have them sooner rather than later. OpenAI in particular is completely unsustainable (and I'm bullish on AI)

The data contains 10 full games of tracking data (at 10fps), SkillCorner's dynamic events and phases of play for those 10 games, and physical aggregate data for midfielders in 175 games. I think that's about as different as it can get, but I might be biased.

Seems similar to becoming a manager. I know that uncomfortable feeling...

Eat grilled fish in Matosinhos (on the street with all the bbqs). It's not the best season for fresh sardines, but you can probably still find them. There's some great spots for fine dining if you're into that (Casa de Chá da Boa Nova, Vila Foz...)

Oh, if you have the time, rent a car and go to the Douro Valley. Incredible beautiful scenery.

Going to a wine cellar in Gaia (check reviews), drinking a Port with a view over Ribeira, go to Foz on old tram (tho I prefer biking along the river), walk the upper deck of D. Luis bridge. Catraio is my favorite spot for beer. Bifanas is the local street food (I suggest Conga to try it)

If you go to Casa da Música, its basically right in front.

(Btw if you need any recommendation or have any question with Porto and Matosinhos, I can probably help)
