Mine would be building their wider reading habits from the start- especially when it comes to reading a range of texts (poetry!) so that they are prepared when it comes to choosing NEA texts.

I had this chart for my groups, along with a booklet where they recorded thoughts and reflections.

We also have a star chart on the wall with colours for different categories so that they read a range of texts too. Was surprised at how much they loved that bit 😂 2/2

Last year they had workshops on celebrating diversity(with Jo Brassington)and also what makes a great leader. The next one will kick off with them presenting what they led in schools as a result of the summit.

As an English teacher,I was keen to gift them all a book that linked to the theme too.2/2
