I saw them in Much Ado About Nothing several times. In Central Park, on CBS and Broadway! Your posts on SW made me realize how often I saw him in the theater (I got to see him and Liv Ullman too!). Thank you!

My friend. I’ll showed us a restored version of the sublime Midnight followed by a restored version of Teddy Bear. Strange double bill. At one point as we endured the insanity of the latter Bill said, “Can you imagine Claudette Colbert and Don Ameche saying these lines?”

This is exquisite. Thank you for sharing. I actually saw the original (twice!) when I was in high school. And I still remember the great Dorothy Collins singing this (Michael Bennett directed her to remain still too). This rivals that legendary performance.

I keep hoping Encores will do “The Firebrand of Florence,” which didn’t work but was still the last show Ira Gershwin and Kurt Weill worked on together.
