O-ish G in these parts after the supervillain took over the old place, talking college basketball and soccer mostly. CT raised, currently in VT. Tried to save democracy once, but that didn't go so well.
Good afternoon from Leede Arena, maybe the only D-1 arena where you have to go past a squash match to get out. Dartmouth and Middlebury going at it today.

Game on from Hanover! Camera acting weird again, sadly. I'm not sure App State has a single fan here. Like zero.

Seeing another Sun Belt team today, which allows me to again present my favorite preseason poll of all-time. In the NIL era of mid-major land, we have no idea. Someone did vote App State first.

Mountaineers return exactly 1 player that saw major minutes from last season.

You are looking live at Leede Arena, where traditional rivals Dartmouth and Appalachian State will go at it this afternoon.

Was told this matchup was signed just a few weeks ago when others fell through, but it's a 1-point line on KenPom, so why not?

This is both an advertisement to ban live-ball time outs and an ode to early season non-conference games.

(Bryant now coached by Jamion Christain, who went to Italy since my avatar picture was taken.)

Marist 75, Dartmouth 56 final.

Red Foxes should be a factor in the MAAC race along with the usual half dozen teams by the end.
November 9, 2025 at 8:58 PM
You are looking live at Leede Arena, where there likely won't be 867 people here like @norlander.bsky.social saw yesterday, but Marist and Dartmouth will take each other on anyway.

Hey, man, there's only one UNH
November 9, 2025 at 5:28 PM
While I would never bail out on a good mid-major game without a great excuse, the real reason for the trip to Manhattan today was most excellent:

Lol, I was there yesterday and now I'm here

Shoulda taken that left turn at Albuquerque, instead ended up here:

Columbia 71, New Haven 53 final.

Kevin Hovde won the final game of the 2024-25 NCAA basketball season and now wins his first of the 2025-26 season. Slightly different venues.

Game on from West Haven! (Clock problems already). #TMMLegacy
November 7, 2025 at 6:02 PM
The University of New Haven is just 4 miles from my childhood home, but old friend Craig Caswell from the Mid-Majority days is in the house all the way from Dayton. Amazingly, he had seen all 364 Division I teams, but he had to now make room for 365 and New Haven.

Columbia at New Haven - I actually have a masters in education from one of these two schools, want to guess which one?
November 7, 2025 at 5:31 PM
You are looking live at the Hazell Athletic Center and the home of the newest member of Division I as they prepare for their first home game this afternoon:

Marshall 78, Massachusetts 72 final.

Thundering Herd survive 25 turnovers and 29 fouls to prove the Sun Belt is superior.

Season on from Amherst! Marshall opens in a zone. With man-to-man principles.
