True! My work hours as a science explainer is often consumed by meetings, purchasing, planning, and development of programs at office. I got this job because I love to share my enthusiasm for science with little scientists, but in reality, l only work as a guide one weekend a month. @science.center
Most professional astronomers spend very little at observatories or observing/using telescopes (& this was true pre-pandemic but is even more true now). We do spend a LOT of time predicting what observations will see or dealing with data previously acquired…
