another thing is that if i did get a diagnosis id be cut off from a lot of things i need to save my life— hrt, top surgery, legal transitioning. im sure a lot of other autistics would know that feeling

bottom line, even if it’s not diagnosed, or if it’s “hidden”, doesn’t mean it’s not there.

you pay up to 5 grand to be put on a 3 year waiting list just for the doctor to refuse to acknowledge you’re autistic because you’re not a 6 year old boy with a train obsession. really not worth it. i have a close friend who studied autism for YEARSSS just to be told “no you’re not autistic”. —

the way i go about it, a lot of people have docked me as autistic years before i realized. which is really embarrassing because a good chunk of them are neurotypical, but a lot of them are also other autistic people. plus.. i don’t really want to get a diagnosis for validations sake. —
