Is there not a single world leader who has the guts to stand up to Trump and call him out for the big blubbering bully he is?

Agree 100%. I cannot bear the betrayal of everything I believed Labour stood for. I will never ever vote Tory, never mind Reform. Sadly, I might never vote Labour again either.
Lurching to the right on immigration will never get Reform supporters to vote Labour again but it will push progressive voters towards the Greens and Lib Dems. As well as being morally grotesque, truly baffling Starmer’s team don’t get the electoral maths of today’s speech.

I thought I was voting for a Labour government. It appears I was wrong.

She’s the chatty daytime presenter with a nice line in withering putdowns. But as a judge once ruled, that’s just a role she performs. So who is the real Lorrai…

After reading this, I want #LorraineKelly to be our next Prime Minister.

Dear Modern Humans,

You thought you were so much smarter than people from the Middle Ages. But you're not.

Why do you think the dark ages lasted so long? It was because of greedy, insane despots who crushed progress and dangerous thoughts.

It won't end until you rise up and overthrow them all.

Why on earth are our media giving a platform to a crazy billionaire who is not part of any government (yet) and just wants to throw his weight around. Playing right into the hands of the loony right. Disgraceful.

Just started reading The Lighted Window (Peter Davidson). Beautiful, meditative, evocative - a gem of a book. But was SO disappointed to see, in just the first few pp, words like 'juxaposition', 'promontary' - and rogue commas. No copy editors/proofreaders, @bodleianlibraries.bsky.social?

Bravo New Jersey! Hope other states follow your example.
PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy signed a law Monday to prohibit public and school libraries from banning books in the state and to enshrine protections against civil and criminal charges for librarians who comply with the law.

just from a folklore point of view, "attractive hooded man kills billionaire head of hated business with bullets inscribed with political slogans and then vanishes" is narratively breathtaking

Has anyone else had a notification that Elon Musk is following them on here? (I don't know if it's a real account, but it looked real enough for me to block him immediately.)

I'm old and confused: there's Emma Watson and Emily Watson and Emily Blunt. Then there are TWO Tom Hollands (only one is an actor, to be fair) and Tom Hollander. And what about Mark Strong, Mark Gatiss, and Mark Rylance - and I think there's a Mark Steel too. Please!

As someone who suffered from postpartum depression, I found so much to relate to in this article. And as someone with a longstanding interest in folklore and witches I totally get the connections she makes. Fascinating reading - looking forward to watching the film.
