A horse I loved passed away today in comfort from old age. I used to ride her for my friends from time to time. My daughter rode her too. I just love this picture of her because while she was safe and gentle, Ruby was often a little cranky. I will miss you old friend.

Really excited for our November issue, and I feel like I'm starting to get into the groove of writing editorials for nBME (with the help of the team of course!). Please check it out!

I won't talk about NMeth @natmethods.nature.com forever (probably), but I do want to brag a bit about the November focus issue on cell segmentation and tracking, which is many ways is my last hurrah (and final editorial) for the journal. I am so proud of these papers!! www.nature.com/nmeth/volume...

I went to the Frick on Saturday for the first time since it reopened. Flora Yukhnovich's Four Seasons installation stole the show, but I could stare at this portrait forever. It has captivated me since I was in sixth grade and it was in one of my textbooks.

Tonight I went trick or treating with a gaggle of little kids and at the end they gifted me all of their almond joys.

I am the mom I always dreamed I would be.

Last day in Berlin was spent with my wonderful colleagues Barb, Sadra, and Alessandra! The Berlin Nature office is really nice! And I got my first ever schnitzel as a vegetarian, made from oyster mushrooms. Yum!

#GEF2025 the meeting is winding down, but it's been an incredible few days. I gave my last talk on behalf of Nature Methods yesterday. It's been amazing to see how far this field has come in ten years. A huge thanks to my hosts Ali and Silvio!!

Also, had to share how I first learned about photon anti-bunching :) A paper by the legendary García-Parajó no less!

When I left the bad place, I thought my social media life was essentially over, and I found that heartbreaking, because it's an important part of my life and my work. But it wasn't true! I am humbled to have hit 14K followers here. Thank you.

I hope I am not adding to your FOMO, but the Gottingen Expansion Microscopy meeting is just starting and it's already amazing! Great to connect with so many of my authors over the years!! #GEF25

Maru the cat died. May cat heaven be full of boxes that are just a little too small.

My husband, through a strange series of events, got to see Oasis for free with his best friend. He only knew their three biggest hits and never heard of Cage the elephant, the opener. I am totally not jealous super happy for him. 😭

It's going to take a minute to get used to the cover letters. The new job is like 1000 small changes, while also feeling already at home.
