a lot of people comment on how terrible bojack was, and that is the one part I can't quite comprehend or grasp. intellectually I understand, but somehow I feel he could have only understood the gravity of his actions if he would not have been traumatised the way he had been traumatised.

the finale was true to the entire show's tone. the way bojack gets to have a last bittersweet moment alone with every friend, with mr peanutbutter, princess carolyn, todd, with diane made the finale the funeral to the death in the previous episode

I don't mean that the finale wasn't good. it was perfect. but in terms of emotional damage, it was way worse than the view from halfway down. now I do ask myself what that says about me.

sadly, following people counts as endorsement. if you really just want to keep tabs on people, put them on lists! their posts show up on your TL as if you follow them.

1. click on yr profile pic on top left corner 2. open settings
3. create list, name list, add description and save

sure life is inherently risky, we all going to die eventually, etc, ... i would agree if the measures i have to take to protect myself would involve great pain, unreasonable financial sacrifices, significant loss of life quality, etc ... but wearing essentially a piece of cloth?

the LEAST severe symptoms of long covid are loss of taste/smell, diarrhoea, constipation, insomnia, for months, years or forever.
the WORST?
blood clots, heart disease, diabetes, ME/CFS, these are excruciating, disabling events. i do not want any of this, ESPECIALLY not as a 50+ yr old woman.

and again, if you're not white, all these things, covid, long covid, job insecurity, precarity etc., might affect you far more, and at least one of these things or a combination of them will.

fun fact: 30% of marriages end in divorce when the wife gets sick (as opposed to only 3% when the husband gets sick).

so women between 40 - 55 are disproportionately at risk to develop long covid, lose their job and/or get divorced as a consequence and end up destitute.

long covid sucks for everyone who is affected but women between 40 - 55 have a 30% increased chance of developing it. not being white increases that chance even more.

it's also the same demographic most affected by job loss, lower salaries and precarity in old age.

lots of articles about long covid show women lounging around and looking vaguely upset, even if the articles go on to outline far more serious health issues and concerns.
