Hier nachgelegt ein ausführlicher Thread zur Dekonstruktion dieses "Beitrages" von Blome. Man sollte es nicht einfach nut als ein harmloses Pamphlet sehen, sondern als Teil einer neoliberalen Kampagnenarbeit, die der AfD und ähnlichen politischen Strömungen sehr gefallen dürfte /1 🧵
Eine Gesellschaft, die sich ernst nimmt, sollte diese menschenfeindliche Propaganda eines Nikolaus Blome nicht zulassen. Das ist gespickt voller Verachtung, Spaltungsabsichten und Falschbehauptungen, die die Leserschaft des Spiegels wohl zur "wohltemperierten Grausamkeit" weiter lenken soll.

i found "nice while it lasted" far more devastating than "the view of halfway down". watching your brain make up a grand exit, a last beautiful scene while you die, seemed like a perfect end but the actual finale offered none of that. just that everybody leaves.

one tumblr thing i did not miss is that fandom meta post explaining why everyone else loves a show or a movie the wrong way or completely misunderstands it and only OP understands the 35 layers of the plot and all the hidden references blah blah blah anyway therefore only OP loves it the right way.

My students used to get me sick every year. Now that I mask, I haven't gotten an upper respiratory infection since covid bit me 4 years ago.

i'm aware i'm not perfectly safe 24/7 but just masking on public transport and in medical facilities have reduced my sick days dramatically. for decades i took having severe colds 3-4 times a year, taking weeks to recover, coughing for months for granted, for no reason. it feels great to not be sick
