Despite their promises, there isn’t a way to really keep that data safe. The best way is simply to not take the data.

Perhaps the phone free childhood campaign and the public could ask why the minister for education is wasting her time on a TikTok channel?
Not only is it ridiculous, we would get better journalism AND support youth if we didn’t ignore qualified journalists /media grads for TikTok “stars”.

All this screen free parenting and screen free schools conveniently omits to discuss how schools insist on ten apps, take fingerprints to pay for food and share children’s data with third parties via edtech or the government. We just focus on phones. And that will come back to haunt these people.

I fear the U.K. is so far behind on child privacy, because the screen free Facebook mums all love this Molly mae documentary. I fear we have normlised reality tv and giving away your dignity for money and now Molly etc think that’s ok for their children too. It is not
