I'll always find the literal-ness of Indian medicines manufacturing both hilarious and deeply practical.

This is one of my all-time faves.

we're hoping to do a few more of these - let us know if you'd like to hang out and think about what *other* stories we can tell about abortion.

bloody hell. abortion stigma + shame x racist governance x imperialism x horrifying, traumatising ‘care’ from the state

in a recent dissertation meeting (via Teams) with my student, i allowed them to use the live transcribe function to aid notetaking. i looked at it to create notes for our required "documentation" - the "AI" censors the word abortion!

Thanks, Pauline Milani & Marlyse DeBurgh, for inviting me to a workshop on "Fighting for our reproductive freedom'.

Apart from work w/ @luberropizzarossa.bsky.social on transgressions/cacophonies, I'll be presenting (for the first time!) on my new project on abortion criminalisation in GB.

And (2) this is me at my last UN Commission and Population and Development (2014) with the lovely Nayeli- we’d just addressed member states as part of a debate on ICPD.

Clearly, I’ve been stewing over this for years.

ballots for the UCU NEC, Trustees, and Officers have turned up. no matter who you vote for, please vote. yesterday’s news from Cardiff is sitting heavy; on top of all the blows we’ve taken the last few years & we need a strong, organised union. #ucu

I went to the excellent blossom book house (my old stomping grounds) with the express purpose of getting a copy of Neha Dixit’s debut book. I’ve been following & learning from Neha’a reportage for a while & I can’t wait to get stuck in.

what a deeply impoverished view of feminist solidarity.

transnational feminist solidarity & organising has & will always exist- no matter who is in power in the US. to truly understand it, it begins with de-centring white, liberal, Western feminism. 1/

From India' DHS/NFHS-3 questionnaire - does not disaggretate responses for abortion, stillbirth, miscarriage (all very different & require delination for any meaningful analysis).

It does not go on to differentiate either. The full questionnaire is here: dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/fri...

"#Abortion debt: revolutionary acts and reclamations of care" - in this, Dr Lucía Berro Pizzarossa & I explore "abortion debt" in different registers - what happens when abortion is a "debt of democracy"? 1/

A related piece that furthers this argument is this piece we published last year, challenging how SMA as "transgressions" is framed: doi.org/10.1016/j.ws...

I just finished reading Cavallero and Gago’s ‘A Feminist Reading of Debt’- a slim but blistering text. Cavallero and Gago, drawing on years of feminist thinking on debt, link global/national debt to the household (& vice versa); 1/

abortions are common, abortions are life changing, abortions are life saving, abortions are acts of care, abortions enable life & living, abortions are profound acts of love.

support abortions, no equivocation; no conditionalities; no stigma.
