I'm in the US and our local theater used to show Doctor Who when it aired back in the 11th Doctor days. Some of us would cosplay and we'd cheer during the credits. It was so fun. I miss it.

No spoilers, but 12 is my husband's favorite because he's a badass. You don't mess with 12.

My kids' Dad became disabled at 25 due to a brain tumor. Social security benefits kept us from being homeless.

He died 10 yrs later, when they were 13 & 14. The social security they received helped with school expenses, clothes, keeping a roof over their heads, and food in their bellies.

Aside from being helpful for the role, I think understanding why bad people do what they do and history can be really beneficial, especially now.
