When I found myself doing very well financially, I was most happy about being able to treat my friends, help a family member out of a tight spot, and give to charities I believed in. It was ten times better than blowing money on just myself.

Which is ironic, since I think a lot of people who say it's useless tried ChatGPT in 2022 and never looked back, but the tech has evolved so fast that their objection isn't over what AI *is*, it’s over what people *think it was*.

This is actually the way I go about using AI for code, as a coding partner and super autocomplete. I do insist on understanding what the code is doing as I go along, though. I still live by the maxim I've said for years: "To understand a program you must become both the machine and the program."
