Thank you for voicing some of these thoughts. I'm party to the lawsuit as well and it pains me to think that writing that came at the cost of my mental health is enriching venture capitalists.

When I told the social worker/counselor my education and profession they straight up told me "I don't know what to do with you."

When I lady sought unemployment when my teaching contract expired at OSU, I was sent an automated email asking if I had considered getting a college degree. 💀

💛 Looking back, I was still finding my way as an educator when I taught those courses and worried that I learned more than you did. I'm working on taking the lessons from the "new" western history and applying them to the Midwest.

My dissertation (and first book) did examine the creation of SOME of their infrastructure as a by-product of the growing petroleum industry during the Gilded Age. Particularly, the culverting of the Kingsbury and Walworth Runs, the creation of the lake crib, and the necessity of water treatment.
