i miss what target used to be while recognizing what it is now.

like twitter!

right-wing assholes just shit all over everything. and i don't need to spend my money on anything covered in shit.
Target just sent up a giant red flag about the U.S. consumer. A 30% stock plunge, collapsing store traffic, and margin pressure all point to the same thing: Affluent shoppers are rattled and recession fears are rising qz.com/tgt-wmt-earn...

I'm going to get some more security cameras and I love that @ubiquiti.bsky.social is transparent about the #tariff - More companies need to show this. They have elected to bear a portion of the increased cost to relieve the burden on customers.

(as ever the effective stuff tends to be a bit more effort than "post on social media, put a badge on your profile, randomly cancel an account without making absolutely sure they know WHY". not much more effort, but a bit more.)

(1) Real talk: Dems have good people. But leadership is old and often out of step with daily costs. Republicans adapted faster in media and tactics. We need to fix the pipeline now.

A $6B federal freeze on K–12 funds, $106M in TN forced schools to delay repairs, cut staff, and drop programs. Even with some money restored, the damage is done. In the end, it’s kids who pay the price for political games.

@scalzi.com i’m sure you get asked this from time to time. What is on your current reading list for the year and what did you read this year that you really enjoyed?

Yeah, imagine replacing “War on Mr. Potato Head” with “War on billionaires keeping grandpa’s yacht tax-free.” Now that’s a meltdown worth watching 😂

The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific.

If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved
