I think DeSantis would probably be okay as SecDef. He’s a jerk, but he’s not crazy. He’s a conventional guy; his problem as a GOP presidential candidate was that he couldn’t convincingly play a nut job on TV.
But it’s sad that the best we can hope for these days is “not crazy.”

I have the adult version of an Advent Calendar. Each day I get a new letter through my letterbox and each day I get to open it and see which bill I need to pay....... It's not as much fun as the kids version.

There's a saying “If a man is not a socialist by the time he is 20, he has no heart. If he is not a conservative by the time he is 40, he has no brain.”. I went completely the other way around. I was a Tory in my youth and am now a rabid socialist. Does this mean I have neither heart nor brain?
