Searching Bluesky for rays of sunshine.
The last time NATCA staged a strike, Reagan fired the lot. Thats why you won't hear a pilots/ATC call DCA "Reagan"; it's "National".

There's immense power in walking away from abuse and it needs to be viewed as a permanent action, one that is likely to fan the flames of privatized ATC.

No, it's not real. It is an alteration from a previous Lucchese advert that did not include Patel.

Violence is emotional and based on what's happening in the present.

Gun violence doesn't care about the "why" in the moment because in the moment violence seeks out the"how".

If we want change we must switch the focus to "how" so we can buy ourselves time later to ask "why".

We must stop pretending the end to gun violence lives in the "why". It doesn't. We stop gun violence by controlling the "how".

"Why" creates empathy and compassion, and while those ideals are important to our humanity, "why" only lives in the past and is ineffective at preventing the future.

This is similar to the 1960s when we couldn't fix car deaths due to speeding (or falling out of moving vehicles) by eliminating humans so we mandated seatbelts instead. It's an engineering control, not for the why but for the how.
September 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM
We're only fixated on "why" so we can continue to avoid asking "how". But that's not how corrective actions work. We can't always fix the why. The why is often rooted in something fundamentally human, and we can't fix humans without eliminating them.

Tests try to represent the population and common failures (like exits not working) but are far from operational representation. They do not teach us about survival factors of the aircraft but merely how quickly an orderly volume of liquid can flow from its vessel when stored at room temperature.

Current tests don't incorporate real-world scenarios like startle and panic. Nor do they account for muscle memory (which is why people grab their bags - that's what they're USED to doing when deplaning).

Certification evacuation testing is fundamentally flawed because the test subjects are aware of what they're there for - evacuating the aircraft in as quick and orderly a manner as possible.

Evaluation methods MUST change and incorporate real-world operational data to move past safety theater.

Dade county concentration camp is an atrocity. And it should absolutely be referred to as what it is: a concentration camp.

Please do not co-opt Auschwitz to refer to our concentration camp in a photo laid against the actual Auschwitz. It's a disservice to those that died in the Holocaust.

The #1 way to explain America working properly is by saying “comedians can make fun of he President on TV.” A good way to explain fascism is “the President forces companies to fire those comedians as a condition of allowing them to conduct business.”

It scares me that I can't tell if this is real or not.

I read that as a "Trump judicial prick".

Of course, I can't find the source when I need it but someone was talking about Blue Alerts recently. Sending these non-emergent alerts with high frequency causes alarm fatigue and teaches people to ignore warnings.

Warnings should be reserved for when people really need info to save their asses.
